Simple InstantPot Brown Rice Quinoa Pulao

Easy, healthy and quick base made in the InstantPot

Prep time: 2m, Total start-to-eat time: 20min

 

Ingredients

1 cup brown rice

1 cup quinoa

2 cup water

1/2 tspn cumin seeds

2 tbsp oil

1/2 lb mixed peas and carrots or other frozen veggies


 

Directions

  1. Rinse and clean brown rice and quinoa under running water

  2. Heat 2tbsp oil (dont skimp) in instantpot on saute, when hot add 1/2 tsp cumin seeds. Heat until fragrant 30s then add brown rice and saute for 2 minutes (careful of it spluttering if still wet), then add quinoa and saute another 2 minutes. Make sure all of it is coated with some oil

  3. Add water and 1/2 lb peas and carrots or other frozen veggies

  4. Instant pot pressure cook on manual for 15min

  5. When cook time is done, quick release, fluff with fork and serve
